"Summer Safari" is an exciting summer day-camp program for school-aged children. The club participates in a variety of activities to keep the summer fun and educational. Regular fieldtrips are taken to the pools, parks, and library. Special weekly trips are planned to Tuttle Creek, Pillsbury Crossing, movies, museums, zoos and numerous other locations both in town and in neighboring communities. For instance, we've cheered at a K.C. Royal's game, splashed at the new aquatic center in Topeka's Gage Park, explored the Kansas Cosmosphere, and gone fishing in Topeka. The highlight for everyone is always our overnight camping excursion at Tuttle Creek. Children are encouraged to enroll in swimming lessons with Manhattan Parks and Rec. Transportation is provided for those who enroll. Summer Safari's hours of operation are Monday - Friday, |
